Covid-19 and Queen's College update 4
Updated: May 20, 2020
Firstly, I hope you and your families are safe and healthy. Since the last time we saw your sons at the end of term 1, our lives have been turned upside down by Covid-19. Our staff members have been proactive by creating a student portal to ease communication with our students.
A revised timetable has been loaded, both onto RESOURCES of the student portal (link below) as well as under RESOURCES (Online Learning / Timetable) on the D6 Communicator.
Please ask your son to follow the link https://sites.google.com/queenscollege.co.za/queens-student-portal/vision-175-beyond to visit the portal for updates. He will find newsletters from my desk on the landing page. Please read carefully.
For the best learning and teaching to take place, I do expect your son to be attending every online learning class as if he were at school. His teachers will be available for engagement for the duration of the lesson. Roll call will be done via WhatsApp groups and/or Google Classroom.
After feedback from my academic staff, it is apparent that some boys are not taking online learning seriously. Moreover, it has become apparent that some boys have more than one telephone number, and have opted to provide the school and their teachers with their inactive telephone number. Please impress upon your son the importance of ensuring that he provides his teachers with his active telephone number so that he is able to access work sent to him via the relevant subject and class WhatsApp groups.
Kindly encourage your son to use every opportunity to prepare himself best for academic success; and to ensure that he does not fall behind his peers in the online lessons.
Please do not hesitate to contact me at headmaster@queenscollege.co.za, should you need any assistance.
My best wishes to your families.
